Leather Sketchbook Cover

leather sketchbook cover

I recently worked on a custom leather sketchbook case from the incredible leathersmith behind Batsugun Leather Co.  I drew up this design, he greatly improved upon it, and I’m super excited about the progress pictures I’ve seen so far.  I cannot wait to see the final thing in person!

French Toast Stick Man

French Toast Stick Man

I realize I have not been posting with much frequency of late as we’ve been pretty busy with family, so I thought I’d share this guy.  It’s something I started for no particular reason and will likely never finish.

Interpreting a Diagram

diagram

I was attending a conference today and one of the presentations had a diagram like the one above to depict a bunch of relationships.  Sure there were words I left out of this quick rendition, and some arrows depicting communication and authority flows; but all I saw was a ripped turtle pressing something overhead.  So…

Mr Freeze

    Mr Freeze

This is a doodle I did during some training (still listening).  This was mostly inspired by the show of Batman: The Animated Series posters coming up this weekend at Mondo.  Victor Freeze was always my favorite, and his poster looks sweet!

Black Panther

Black Panther

This weekend I had the chance to see Black Panther twice, and it was even better the second time.  Can’t wait for Infinity War this summer!

Eeyore with Scarf

Eeyore Scarf

My awesome mother-in-law has been working for sometime now to thoughtfully knit scarves that would be given to people receiving various treatments at her local hospital.  Her spirit animal is Eeyore, so I doodled up a version of him that would show up well at about a nickel size, and made some tags for her on my cutter.  The pose was heavily influenced by one I saw online, but I redrew the whole thing from scratch to clean it up and added the scarf.  Hopefully the little guy, the message of the tags, and the knowledge that someone is wishing the patients well will bring some joy to their hearts and speed along their healing.

Drawn in Krita, process GIF done in GIMP.

Inktober Posting Fail

This year, life was much too busy to keep up with inktober past the first week or so.  I did get a few more drawn, but never got around to posting them until now.  Please enjoy them below.

Inktober – Peanut Monsieur

Peanut Monsieur

This day of Inktober brings me back to my Comical prompt.  So… somehow I ended up uttering peanut butter in a french accent, which then made me think of “peanut monsieur” so that’s what I thought I’d doodle.  Why I combined a beret, a curly mustache, mime makeup, cigarette, and sandals to portray this character, I can’t really say.  I suppose it’s a little glimpse into my odd thought process.

Inktober – Dachshund

Dachshund

For day nine, I’m back on Biological for my prompt.  Last week I posted a doodle of our kitten, so here’s a quick one of my in-laws dog Snickers.

Inktober – Corn Crib

Corn Crib

Today’s inktober doodle for the architectural prompt is a corn crib.  I was originally just going to draw a barn, but this kind of took it’s place in the process.  I grew up on a farm with one pretty much like this.
