I found a bunch of pictures that I had never posted last year I thought I would put on the blog. The first was a small garbage can (not my original idea) that I made for my dad’s camper. I teased it here.
Next were two process pictures I took while making the wooden Zelda masterswords. One was routing the blade edges and the other was the carnage that resulted from their production.
Christmas tree bracing
The final picture is of the repair job I had to do for our Christmas tree. My initial build was sturdy enough for me to gently move it about, but did not survive so well from our movers last summer. I took the whole thing apart and added a brace to the entire length of every level, plus a handle to pick the thing up with.

Today, for day six of Inktober, my prompt is Floral. I thought I would doodle a tree, by the sea, which is a horrible rhyme.
Tree shore sketchbook
A couple of the gifts we wanted to make this year were some turned wooden trees. This meant I had to save up and purchase a lathe, which I’m still learning how to work on. But I have been able to turn out (get it) a few trees that we gave out as Christmas gifts. The stars on top were carved out separate.
When the LEGO Christmas train set was released I ran out to our local LEGO store certain that they would sell-out in minutes. I may have been a bit too worried because I was the only one there when they opened. The train wouldn’t fit on the buffet with the village so we decided to set it up to circle our tree instead.
A Gift to the World
This week’s bulletin doodle. Last night our church had our Children’s Christmas Cantata, which was absolutely adorable. It was a simple reminder of God’s free gift to all of us.
For an added bonus, below is the cantata backdrop I made for the auditorium and our digital signage, last week’s bulletin doodle of Vader throwing down the imperial march, and a picture of our wooden Christmas tree after we got all the ornaments and lights on.

No Fluff Tree
Due to family allergies we’ve always had a fake Christmas tree and my wife and I unanimously despise fluffing that stinker. So this year we decided to make a rustic wooden tree to use in the house instead. I’ll post some of the process photos later this week when I get time.
Lots of hooks (83) on the louvers to hang stuff
Lights up close
Nerdy Roger Shirt
This weekend I was able to knock out a few new projects, namely my first Nerdy Roger shirt, and some pallet trees for my lady. Not my idea, but something she wanted me to make.
Inktober day 15. I had a lot of fun doodling the tree yesterday, so I did another one today. Half way there people!
Inktober day 14. I thought I’d do something simple tonight.
