Another byproduct of a weekend spent on projects. My wife saw something like this on the internet and we colored this one to match a friends kitchen.

I hammered out quite a few projects I’d been piling up this holiday weekend, this being the most time consuming. It’s a wooden plaque for some friends of ours who just bought their first home. Started life as a flat board I picked up at Michael’s, and after some carving, sanding, carving again, paint, detailing, scuffing, detailing again, and clear coat; it ended up looking like this.
We had a rather lengthy meeting this week which required no input on my part, so I started to doodle. I honestly couldn’t think what to start with, but one of the sketch_dailies topics was “buccaneer” so this is what happened. A little Pirates of the Caribbean’ish swashbuckler. It was really dark in the corner I was hiding in.
And everyone should definitely watch this amazing animation by Glen Keane too. Just saw it for the first time this morning.
Have a great day in learning, young scholars everywhere!
Another church bulletin margin doodle, from Friday’s sketch_dailies topic.
This Friday was the book III finale for The Legend of Korra. I’m always insanely impressed by the creativity and story telling this crew puts together. Another great season that left me a little choked up at the end. Can’t wait for book IV!
Today’s sketch_dailies was Tod and Copper from The Fox and the Hound. It’s one of my wife’s favorite movies so I had to doodle it.
This was yesterday’s sketch_dailies topic that was still listed this morning. I had a few extra minutes today so I scribbled something down real quick.
This is a little random guy I doodled yesterday when I was waiting to pick up our son from a picnic. I sort of ran out of room for the legs…
A good friend at work took a monumentally long time completing one of those “drink every beer we sell at the bar” challenges, so I drew him a little sloth guy for his reward plaque. I also had a spelling error on one of the first layout tests I showed him, so we just scribbled stupid stuff on it all day.
