Today’s bulletin doodle was the young Nova from Marvel comics. I decided to try rough coloring it real quick on my Surface, but the picture I took to start with wasn’t the best.

Scout Solo
For this Sunday’s bulletin sketch, I depicted our little cat as Han Solo. I’ll need to do another with our decidedly grumpier old girl as the Emperor.
I added some color in the computer.
Cheese Grader
Another church bulletin doodle that has been in the sketchbook for a few weeks. I tried to draw a cuter version of Splinter and the Can Opener.
Sheriff Woody of Star Command
I think it was last week one of the sketch_dailies topics was Woody from ToyStory. One of the submissions had him with Buzz’s Leg and an arm, so I thought I’d try to fully combine the two characters into a space sheriff. “To the waterhole, and beyond!”
Stained Glass Cross
I have not been doing a very good job of posting lately, so I have a bunch of my Sunday bulletin doodles piled up in the sketchbook. This was my attempt to start working on a faux stained glass wallpaper for our church’s projection screen. Our old chapel had an amazing stained glass window above the baptistry, right in the center of the back wall. Our new building is lacking a little of this character so I’m gonna see if I can change that.
I pulled this sketch into Inkscape where I cleaned it up and then separated all the individual panes. Now for some coloring and photo lighting effects.
Manly War Turtle
Greetings from hiatus with this week’s bulletin doodle. Once I added the mustache to this manly warrior, I thought he’d need chest hair too… Can turtles grow chest hair? Are they keeping some chest hair miracle hidden away in their shells? He really needs to get a lighter sword too.
Colored in The GIMP and Krita.
Episode VII: Bucket of Bolts
This was my bulletin doodle for today, the Pastor brought up Star Wars in the first few minutes of his sermon so he’s really partially to blame. I took the boys to go see the movie last Wednesday and we were all very happy! I especially like how they re-introduced the Millenium Falcon.
This was another doodle I did sometime last week, that I forgot to post. They “pew pew” is translated from the wookie’s native tongue which would probably be like “uuuuggghhhhhhhhrarrrrrrrgghhhhhhhhaah.”
Snowman House
This was last Sunday’s bulletin doodle at church, a festive house in a friendly shape.
I also made a new silkscreen for shirts and stuff.
Sir Eggs-a-lot – Chicken Knight
I almost forgot my bulletin doodle for the week.
CardboardMan
This was my bulletin doodle for the week (with some added color in The GIMP.)
Spent sometime this weekend organizing and cleaning up the garage, then hit the pool and played games with my monsters. Ready for that long weekend coming up…
