Germ Mule

Germ Mule

A week before the Valentine’s holiday our youngest son came home from school with a nasty case of the Flu and a little tonsillitis.  Needless to say the house went into full quarantine mode which only had one problem.  Our little cat Scout loved to go back and forth rubbing and getting pets from both the ill and the healthy so we started calling him the “Germ Mule”.  The healthy ones in the family had to start shunning him until the contagious period had passed.

Meow-tron Colored

Meow-tron

I’ve been excited about adding some color to this Inktober doodle, as I had to do lots of cross hatching on the black and white version.  This was based of an adorable tshirt design be Matthew Armstrong.

Carrot – Colored

Carrot Colored

I really liked how this doodle of David Revoy’s character Carrot came out, so it’s the next up for the color treatment.

Inktober – Andy Estrada

Inktober 2019-16 Andy Estrada

Today’s Inktober inspiration is Andy Estrada.  He posts lots of sketches and concepts online, and often uses this funny little cat guy to depict his relief that the weekend has finally arrived.

Most of his digital sketching is in blue, so I used a blue Sakura brush pen in homage.

Today I bring you the cute Carrot from David Revoy‘s online comic Pepper & Carrot.  He not only produces this comic open source, but is also a huge part in the development of open source art tools like Krita.  His videos, instructions, and blog posts are a treasure to aspiring artists all over the world!

Stomach Bug

stomach bug

Our house is protected by an extremely ferocious man-cat named Scout who has a habit of finding bugs and swallowing them whole.

Unfortunately, he also seems to have a sensitive stomach because about 2-3 minutes later he is usually in a much less ferocious state.  I imagine this behaviour will never change.

Wrestling Cat Card – Finished

Wrestling Cat Card Finished

This is what the final front and inside of our wrestling cat card looked like.  I ended up shading the cat a little with my cool grey copic markers, but I didn’t get a picture of it.  It looked something like this.

Wrestling Cat Card

wrestling cat card

I woke up this morning to our son getting invited to a party, and the request to make a card.  His friend likes cats, wrestling, and @iameliaswwe so I combined them into this cat slamming someone off the top rope.  I might post the entire card with background later.

We’ve had a pretty tumultuous last month so I’ve gotten quite behind on my posting and will post obsessively today to catch up.

Inktober – My Cat Scout

Scout

Today is the second day of Inktober and my prompt was Biological, so I thought I’d draw our little man Scout.  This was based on a photo I took of him sometime back that was super cute.

Scratcher Tunnel Finished

tunnel finished

I finally glued the rest of the segments together to finish up the tunnel.  It’s about 2 feet long now, so the cats can fully hide inside of it.  It’s actually a pretty solid form once the glue is all set.
