C-3PO Bop

More farting around learning to use Krita.  Many of the things I would previously have had to bounce between MyPaint and GIMP can all be done in it.  Just what I need is a whole new workflow process.

Tomorrow starts Inktober!  I think I’m going to give it a shot and see how many days I can find time to draw something.

Hungry Yoda

I had to sit at a Dentist office for a bit today with one of the boys, so I thought I’d doodle and this is what came out.  I had started scribbling out this idea earlier in Krita (trying to learn that program), so I thought i’d at least draw the face and play around with one of the copic marker brushes.  When I first laid down the lines the right ear was way to big, which would have been a redraw in mypaint, but I tested out the transformation tool in krita and fixed it!

Teen Han

This weeks bulletin doodle is an angst filled Han Solo as a teenager.  Why can’t he find that stupid song he’s looking for?

Cartoon Luke

This was a little doodle I’ve been scribbling on throughout the week and I finally had a chance to post it.  Will probably do some more of these characters until the movie comes out in December.

Ed Roth Roadster

Someone asked me to draw an Ed Roth Roadster with a turbo, so this is what I came up with.  I tried to stay very close to his classic style and car type.

I started with a loose sketch, then made a some shape guides in inkscape before inking.

Starlord Helmet

I haven’t done a vector helmet in a while and I thought Starlord’s mug was worth doodling.  Created in Inkscape with final texturing in the Gimp.

LEGO Booty

Today the boys and I visited a newly opened “Bricks & Minifigs” store in town.  I picked over all the loose bins for as many Technic parts that I either needed more of or had never seen, and crammed one of their little cups full.  Was hoping to score some long beams too, but those seem to have been already snatched up.  Will definitely be returning.

On another LEGO related note, I picked up a Groundskeeper Willy the other day and thought his noggin might look funny on Metalbeard’s body.
