I scribbled this little guy out in a meeting, inspired by the Helldivers skull logo. I also tried to keep the lines really light and took a picture before shading it. Below are three different attempts to clean up the inks. Left: in The GIMP using color levels to strip out everything but the black (learned from here). Center: taking the levels one into Inkscape and tracing the bitmap with the brightness cutoff threshold at 0.55. Right: again starting with the levels one, and having The GIMP define a path around the lines, then stroking them with a 1pt solid line, and filling.
I like the Inkscape trace the best. I’ll probably color this guy sometime…
I spent quite a few miles and hours on planes over the last two days for a speaking engagement, so I doodled to pass the time. An Assemblage of Avengers, a loose brush pen dragon, and a pondering robot.
Inktober Day 27. I really have no explanation for this doodle. Four days left! Meow.
robot meter maid
Inktober day 11. This was my bulletin doodle for church today. The sermon was about mistakes, which may have subliminal taken me to parking violations? Having never lived in a metropolitan area with actual parking meters, I can’t say I know for sure why?
Day 4 of Inktober. I’ve completely given up on the quill pen now(probably more the ink bottle I have than anything…) and I’m sticking with my faithful Sakura pens, until some new ones I ordered come in. Don’t ever buy cars here…
This was my church doodle for this week. Our climate has been forgetting to water my plants for me for a couple of weeks, so I was wishing I had a huge ‘bot to do it for me. I wanted to do more Copic shading, but my lighter marker has completely dry/run out.
Posting has been a pretty lite lately, I’ve been working on a bunch of projects I can’t post. So in a few moments of interim I found, I doodled this guy. I hope to someday be able to draw sweet robots like Jake Parker, but the tiny details always escape me.
Lanky Perspective Robot
If today were “Draw a lanky robot from an extreme perspective day“, this would be a aptly conceived doodle. Alas, that day has not yet been signed into law, but I drew this guy anyway during church. I got to do the sound board for the first service and both sound and projection for the second, so I got twice as much time to doodle.
This is a little random guy I doodled yesterday when I was waiting to pick up our son from a picnic. I sort of ran out of room for the legs…
This is a mostly finished logo I’m working on for an office that’s desperately in need of automating some tasks.
Built completely in Inkscape, textured in Gimp, all on Ubuntu.
