I finally got the Love piece I’ve been working on painted and stained. I did a satin black acrylic on the inside cutaway space, and then a black cherry finish on the face and sides. The finish was a little more purple than I anticipated but it still looks nice. Now to finish it off with a clear coat and put some hangers on the back.
A few weeks back, we were watching a friends amazing four year old son after church, who is smitten with his alphabet blocks at home. His mom did not send him with those blocks… So we went to the garage and made him some custom ones to fill in.
My church bulletin doodle from this week. My streak of bringing my sketchbook seems to have ended.
This past Sunday we had a great sermon on God’s love, which made me think up this little woodworking project. It’s a shortening of 1 Corinthians 13:13. I’m still trying to figure out how to finish/stain/paint it.

I finally found the right color of stain (Rust-Oleum “Kona”) to finish the little keepsake drawers I made for my wife. Now if we can find a place to put them in the house…
